CRF

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Medical Report
The following appears in a medical report for an 87-year-old male patient with a history of multiple cardiac and renal problems, and dementia:
SITUACIÓN BASAL:
- SOCIAL: [redacted]
- FUNCIONAL: CRF 4. Camina con ayuda de una persona trayectos cortos, para trayectos largos en silla de ruedas. Dependiente para todas las ABVD. Incontinencia mixta ocasional.
- MENTAL: Deterioro cognitivo leve …
- NUTRICIONAL: Tolera dieta blanda …

Can anyone advise me what CRF is inyended to indicate in thIs context?
Thanks.

Discussion

CRF = Escala de incapacidad física de la Cruz Roja CRF = Cruz Roja Física (there is also a Mental component of the scale). This is a Spain-specific scale and I don't think there is an established English translation.

This article has "RCF" and "Red Cross Functional Scale":

Residual Functional Capacity (RFC)

RFC stands for “Residual Functional Capacity” and refers to the maximum you can do in spite of your physical/psychological impairment(s).
Just in case, also note ABVD (actividades diarias de la vida diaria) is the equivalent to ADL (Activities of Daily Living).

It should be noted that Residual Functional Capacity (RFC) also refers to “the volume remaining in the lungs after a normal, passive exhalation. In a normal individual, this is about 3L. (The FRC also represents the point of the breathing cycle where the lung tissue elastic recoil and chest wall outward expansion are balanced and equal.)” [source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK500007/], but this does not appear to be the case here.
Example sentence:

A disability examiner works together with a medical consultant to determine a claimant’s residual functional capacity. The consultant determines the level of exertion for which the claimant is physically capable and the limitations that affect the claim

Note from asker:
Many thanks Nora. I considered this and immediately discarded it (wrongly) after finding another definition specifically relating to respiration. Clearly this is the correct translation. Cheers, John.
