Inlet Separation and Mercury Removal Unit
The feed gas entering the plant could carry traces of liquid and particles, and therefore will require pre-separation and filtration. In order to maintain a stable pressure throughout the treatment process, a pressure control valve is located downstream the inlet emergency shutdown valve. The gas downstream the pressure control valve is sent to the Inlet Knockout Drum to remove liquids. The gas exiting the Inlet KO Drum is routed to the Inlet KO Drum After Filter to remove entrained particles due to corrosion which may build up over time in the upstream pipeline. The filtered gas is then routed through a Custody Transfer Metering Skid. Then this gas is passed through Mercury Guard Bed to take out Hg which avoids the Aluminium corrosion or catastrophic failure in the Cold Box (liquefaction heat exchangers). This gas is then passed through Mercury Guard Bed After Filter to take out catalyst dust from the treated gas.
