I used to rummage through junkyards (now called recycling centers) for parts and even bought a used transmission once. Once I sold a whole car to a junkyard dealer and watched it wistfully go on its last journey. Salvageable parts are stripped and liquids drained (depollution is not an AE word). Sometimes, cars simply stand there, and you can remove parts yourself or have the crew take out engines, transmission. etc. from the innards of the car - an instant surgery. The rest is crushed and resold to be melted down.

Ciekawa sprawa Ciekawa sprawa z tym silnikiem. Nie wiem, co dzieje się z pojazdem ani jego silnikiem po przekazaniu na złom. Ale przynajmniej ostatni właściciel twierdzi, że oddał cały pojazd (tj. z silnikiem) i otrzymał pieniądze za złom. Wg. niego pojazd ważony był z silnikiem i waga zgadzała się z dokumentacją. Być może następnie ważą pojazd bez silnika. Naprawdę nie wiem. Rzecz dotyczy Wielkiej Brytanii.

Used engines (and other parts like transmissions) from wrecked cars are very often set aside for resale. Since internal engine surfaces must remain oiled while in storage to prevent rusting, they cannot be completely depolluted. My link speaks to that. Clearly, the car without the engine weighs less, but that is in a line unrelated to depollution.

Ze osunięto pozostawiono w silniku ciecze zagrażające środowisku, uważam za mało prawdopodobne. To usuwanie jest dość dokładnie opisane, a roboty dość destruktywne (dziurawienie lub ciecie elementów, np. amortyzatorów). Jeśli pozostawiono by ciecze w silniku, to wrak nie spełniałby nijak warunków pozwalających na określenie go jako depolluted.

Uważam, ze tam po prostu brakuje przecinka, a z wraka wymontowany jest silnik. Na to wskazuje min. różnica 140 kg miedzy katalogowa masa sucha pojazdu, a wcześniej podana masa wraku.

End-of-life HGVs have many pollutants associated with them and are classified as hazardous waste

Components that require their fluids to be retained for reuse however,for example engines and gearboxes, are not required to be depolluted, providing they are stored in an appropriate manner.
