English term

eating them beans

Non-PRO English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters eating them beans
This means that we'll just have to tighten our belt another notch, mate. And just continue eating them beautiful baked beans.

ٍSomeone talking about Covid impact on his business, is this sentence correct, "eating them…"? Not really sure of the source. What could it means if it is correct?

The material is Australian.

Thanks in advance,

Heinz baked beans are good for the heart: the more you eat them, the more you... like 'em. (Sorry, 'tis late. :-) )

agree Daryo : or just "spending as little as possible"? They might not be literally eating these "beautiful baked beans"?

might be. I just wrote what the standard form is. he just asked what it means.
agree philgoddard : I'm sure the asker knows what 'eating" and "beans" means, and was asking about "them". I disagree with Lara.

Thank you, Phil!
neutral Daryo : that explains only the "them" part, but not he whole of "just continue eating .... baked beans", nor the irony /mockery in "beautiful" ...

disagree Lara Barnett : I don't think this is the reason "them" is used. As Daryo says, in the context of the phrase it is used to suggest a kind of ironic attitude, and has nothing to do with dialiect.

Hello, what I answered him was this question: "is this sentence correct, 'eating them…'?"..."What could it means if it is correct?" -> eating those beans
