I know the ST. VERN. is Stahl vernickelt

Some people still insist on calling stainless steel "Schwedenstahl" (for which I think this is very likely to be a corruption), although it was invented in England...
Here it appears to be a strip measuring 5 x 224 mm. This could well be, if it is for the kitchen, even though 5 mm seems awfully thin to me...it could well be just a trim-strip.
