: but if you recast the sentence, you can have "a mental cry from the heart" (though why сердцах is plural I don't know). Thanks for the clarification! In that case, "mental scream" sounds best.

mindscream
Creating new verbs is a common thing among Russian speculative fiction authors. I particularly have fun with it, and I think "mindscream" sounds as interesting as "мыслекрик".
