"such as" o "like"

You have lots of options; you can do a straight translation "in the style of" but I don't like literal translations, so I would recommend the phrase "such as" or something similar.
Example sentence:

This editor cannot be considered an editor such as Notepad.

This editor cannot be considered an editor like Notepad.

neutral Carol Gullidge : not wrong, but I think this incurs slight loss of emphasis. This is more like "como". And I see nothing wrong with the literal translation here!//I was commenting on yr dislike of literary translations, not on being concise (which is admirable)

Why not use three words when one will do, eh? There is something to be said for conciseness, even though it seems to be out of fashion.
