Language pair: | English to Spanish |
Definition / notes: | Welding technique invented in 1991 by The Welding Institute (UK). Welding is performed by friction of a cylindrical welding head with flange and a profiled probe. The friction generates heat that lets the metallic parts soften and reach a plastic state but without actually reaching their fusion point. The welding tool is placed between the two items to be welded and the material is forged through the mating of the probe and the tool flange. |
