Un modelo plástico que recoge y hace suyas estrategias que vienen del activismo y la lucha social, llevándolas al campo de la creación artística. Es este carácter lo que configura la realidad misma de la obra de arte como la entiende Mateos, no como un hecho aislado y ageneracional, sino como un gesto que es leído en un momento concreto, por un colectivo concreto y cuya realidad evoluciona con la sociedad, poniendo en entredicho el mito del producto artístico único, diferente del mundo y cuya verdad se impone por igual a cualquier punto de vista.
