SDL Trados 2007 is the world’s most popular computer aided translation (CAT) and project management solution for the translation professional.

The SDL Trados Certification program enables individual translators and translation teams to progressively increase their knowledge and expertise through attendance on a series of 3 training courses. Each of the training courses leads to a level of certification – culminating in the final Level 3 Advanced Certification. Every level of certification is achieved by passing an exam which demonstrates the level of competence attained.


Learning Objectives:
This online course has been designed to build on your introductory knowledge of SDL Trados 2007. In the Translator’s Workbench Getting Started course you will have learnt the key features of setting up and using Translator’s Workbench, TagEditor and SDL MultiTerm. The Intermediate course will take you further into the functionality of Translator’s Workbench and TagEditor and introduce you to the WinAlign element of SDL Trados 2007.

On completion of this course you will:

• Further increase your productivity by Translator’s Workbench to help you never translating the same sentence again.
• Show you how to leverage your previously translated material to quickly build a new translation memory by “aligning” you old translated files with their equivalent source files.
• Be trained to use Translator’s Workbench, TagEditor and WinAlign

Target Audience:
Anyone who wants to increase their productivity using the powerful functionality of SDL Trados 2007.

Prerequisites:
Attendance on the SDL TRADOS Certification course Translator’s Workbench Getting Started Level 1. (see upcoming sessions here) Or having been placed at this level by taking the SDL TRADOS Certification Placement Exam – which can be found on www.sdl.com My Account.

Post Course:
Before sitting your SDL TRADOS Certification exam Level 2, we strongly recommend that you review the Translator’s Workbench Intermediate training manual. This is automatically added to you’re My Account area on www.sdl.com if you purchase the SDL TRADOS Certification exams.

How do I access the online platform?

How do I take SDL Certification Test after I completed this training?

There needs to be a minimum of 6 students to conduct this training session. If the minimum students is not reached 72 hours before the session is to take place, you will be notified and asked to book your seat in an upcoming session without extra cost or transaction from your part.

IMPORTANT:You do not need to have the software installed on your machine, the software features will be presented via the trainer’s machine.

Recommendations:

o You need an internet connection and a separate telephone, so that we can talk to you whilst presenting the training.
o For the visual section of the training course, we recommend that you have a 64kbps link. This means using an ISDN line or Broadband.
o For the audio section of the training course, we recommend that you have a telephone headset or hands-free speaker phone.
o We recommend that you log in 30 minutes in advance of the start time to prepare for the training course.
o Please mute your phone during the training course to ensure that there is no background noise during the audio section.
