Bio
I majored in Spanish at the University of New Mexico. I lived in Quito, Ecuador during my penultimate semester, living with a local family and taking classes at the university extension. I also lived in Mexico six months and have visited Colombia, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Currently I am a Translation Specialist at a large school district, since 2009. I translate documents into Spanish (for the benefit of the parents and families of the students) for the entire district, which are distributed to the schools. This includes policies, codes of conduct and other manuals, brochures, forms, letters, etc. as well as IEP-related documents. I also translate transcripts, powers of attorney, OT and other evaluation reports, etc. from Spanish to English. I occasionally interpret for IEP, support team, discipline, and other meetings.

I also do freelance translations. I have done certificates, legal documents, handbooks for businesses, letters, flyers, and other types of documents. I'm mostly interested in translating Christian literature.

I have interpreted for the state health department and for General Sessions, Criminal, Civil, and Juvenile Court, as well as for the Dept. of Labor in settling worker's comp claims. I also have interpreted for a couple businesses, helping them to communicate with their Spanish-speaking employees.
