Source text - French Le bouquetin des Alpes, tous les montagnards connaissent cette énorme chèvre qui peut peser jusqu’à 120 kg ; cette chèvre sauvage, facile à reconnaître grâce à ses cornes. Le mâle a des cornes qui peuvent atteindre presque 1 m. En fait cet animal magnifique a bien failli disparaitre des Alpes. Il a été sauvé de justesse par le Roi Victor Emmanuel. Que s’est-il passer ? Il a été chassé très tôt par l’Homme, et son déclin a été amorcé dès 1500 dans les Alpes.
Translation - English The Alpine Ibex is an enormous goat known to all mountain dwellers, and who can weigh up to 120 kg. This wild goat is easy to distinguish because of its horns. The male’s horns can grow to almost one metre in length. In actual fact this magnificent creature very nearly disappeared from the Alps. He was saved in the nick of time by King Victor Emmanuel. Why did this happen? He had been hunted early on by Man, and his decline can be traced back to the year 1500 in the Alpine region.

Have written and translated various articles on footballer Eric Cantona for celebrated french sports magazine "L'Equipe" (1994).Translated the lyrics for the debut album of Swiss band "THE YOUNG GODS" (1986).
