A native English speaker, I have enjoyed studying foreign languages for over twenty years. In 2004, I completed a BA (Hons) in Italian and Spanish at Cardiff University and subsequently went on to complete an MA in Translating and Interpreting at the University of Bath, graduating in 2009. I recently passed the Institute of Translation & Interpreting's exam to become a qualified member, so I am now qualified as an MITI. I took the exam in my area of specialism, Medical and Pharmaceutical translation.
As you can see from my CV, since graduating I have gained valuable experience in the field of health and medicine and have been working as an in-house medical translator and linguist for a number of medical repatriation companies since 2009. My current position as a medical translator involves liaising with doctors abroad to ensure the safe repatriation of patients and the translation of medical reports and discharge summaries.
As a freelance translator, I work for a number of prestigious clients and I have experience translating a broad range of subject matter from interviews and certificates to more technical documents such as land ownership papers, engineering based documentation, medical reports and pharmaceutical documents. I have also translated the website of one of Italy's largest landscape architect firms. In addition, I regularly translate for the lighting and design magazine Luce e Design. I have also just completed the translation of the 85,000 word biographical novel, Paul Harris: The life story of Rotary's founder.

Aside from translation, I am a qualified Shiatsu practitioner, which is a form of Japanese bodywork. I also enjoy yoga, walking, cycling, literature and the arts and spending time with my young family.
