Source text - English The software is no substitute for the human eye. This means that revision is always necessary. Difficulties arise when weak bands, which are still just visible to the eye, are no longer recognized by the software. In this case the band matching or band detection proves to be difficult.
The intensity profile of a band (refer to model below) displays that bands can be very heterogeneous. It can happen with extremely weak bands or bands having the same or a very similar intensity as the CutOff Band are measured differently between scans. Those bands have to be verified visually. In the following model, the same strip was scanned several times. The intensity profile emphasizes the resulting small differences occurring for a band between the scans.
