Source text - English Only hunger kept the wolf-pack together. As soon as they had reached a place with plenty of food, the pack broke up into smaller parts. The white she-wolf at first led half the pack east, but day by day wolves were leaving: two by two they left, male and female, until only four remained. There was the she-wolf, and three male followers: a strong three-year-old, a young wolf and old One Eye.
The four wolves were always fighting among themselves, growling and biting at ears and shoulders, specially when one ran in front of another, who felt himself to be the leader. The day came when the three-year-old bit old One Eye harder than usual, and One Eye turned on his enemy.

تنها گرسنگي، گله گرگ را در کنار هم نگه داشت . به محض اينكه آنها به مكاني با غذاي فراوان رسيدند ، گله به بخشهاي كوچكتر تقسيم شد . ابتدا ماده گرگ سفيد نصف گله را به سمت شرق هدايت كرد ، اما روز به روز، گرگها گله را ترك مي كردند . آنها دوتا دوتا مي رفتند ، نرو ماده ، تا آنجا كه فقط چهار تا ماندند . ماده گرگ و سه نر تعقیب کننده ؛ يك گرگ سه ساله قوي ، يك گرگ جوان و يك چشم پير . اين چهار گرگ دائما در حال جنگ در ميان خودشان بودند ، خرناس مي كشيدند و گوشها و شانه هاي يكديگر را گاز مي گرفتند ، به خصوص وقتيكه يكي جلوي ديگري مي دويد ، و احساس مي كرد كه رهبر است . روزي رسيد كه گرگ سه ساله ، يك چشم پير را شديدتر از معمول گاز گرفت ، و يك چشم تبديل به دشمن او شد .
