This chapter introduces Down syndrome to people who may never have heard of it before or who may know little about it. It addresses the basic questions parents have about Down syndrome and gives the foundation of knowledge you need to begin properly caring for your baby.
The technical terms in this chapter may be unfamiliar to you. The glossary at the back of this book includes all of the important terms. Use it to understand the terms you don´t yet know and refer back to it as often as you need.
