Source: rfi
Translation - English The Mysterious Translator of Harry Potter
French police have released a 16 year old schoolboy from custody after interrogating him for 24 hours about his involvement in the distribution of an illegal translation of the seventh instalment of the famous bespectacled wizard's adventures: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The French translation was spread via internet just a few days after the release of the original version on the 21st of July. The legal investigation concluded that the translation is "of good quality", although specialists believe that the book was translated in record time by several individuals, who were probably in contact via internet. The French publisher Gallimard (which had scheduled the release of the official translation for the 26th of October) and the British author J.K. Rowling filed a lawsuit with the public prosecutor's office Aix-en-Provenza, however the prosecutor has now stated that the young boy's motive was "not for financial gain".
