Bio
I am a Public Translator of Portuguese, graduated in December 2013 from the National University of Rosario. Additionally, I work as a teacher, training Portuguese translators at the same institution since 2017. In over ten years of professional career as a translator and translation teacher, I have developed and refined the following knowledge, competencies, and skills:
*Excellent reading comprehension in Portuguese and Spanish.
*Outstanding writing skills, deep understanding of grammar, and communicative abilities in Portuguese and Spanish.
*English proficiency at C1 level (Upper intermediate).
*Extensive mastery of computer-assisted translation tools or CAT tools such as Trados Studio, memoQ, Wordfast, etc., enabling me to easily adapt to new tools.
*Theoretical knowledge of text genres and experience in identifying, classifying, and adapting language to specific text genres and fields.
*Kindness, common sense, clarity, and social skills to engage with direct clients, agencies, colleagues, and teams from diverse backgrounds, and to consult specific lexicon with informants from other areas.
*Awareness of my social role as a translator/interpreter within the industry, hence I work with responsibility and commitment, meeting deadlines and conditions, feeling satisfied every time I provide my services.
*Industry experience to comprehend job assignments, estimate, calculate work volumes and delivery times, consult doubts, make decisions based on information received from clients or colleagues, and to differentiate roles and types of tasks within the translation process: project management, translation, editing, bilingual proofreading, SEO optimization, LQA, post-editing, transcreation, etc.
*Passion for spelling and punctuation.
*Passion for good literature.
