El conjunto urbano turístico de Islantilla, una Mancomunidad formada por los Ayuntamientos de Isla Cristina y Lepe (Huelva), está situada en la costa de esta provincia, a caballo entre ambos términos municipales.
El área más céntrica, situada a pie de playa, integra hoteles, apartamentos y dos centros comerciales de reciente creación (con todo tipo de establecimientos, restaurantes y un multicine con seis salas).
Hacia el interior, subiendo por las laderas de la colina, se atraviesa el campo de golf (catalogado por la prestigiosa revista Golf Digest entre los 100 mejores campos de Europa) y las urbanizaciones.
Desde el centro comercial, mirando hacia el mar, siguiendo el Paseo Marítimo hacia la izquierda están situados hoteles y varios conjuntos residenciales; el paseo marítimo se une actualmente con el nuevo paseo marítimo de La Antilla. La barriada de los pescadores y zonas de La Antilla están junto a él. Desde allí por la carretera, que discurre paralela al mar, llegamos hasta la Torre del Catalán y el Puerto de El Terrón.
También desde el centro comercial, pero esta vez hacia la derecha, atravesamos el conjunto residencial; a continuación alcanzamos la playa de Urbasur, un residencial de casas bajas situado entre bosquecillos y arbustos en el que se encuentran numerosos restaurantes con terrazas junto al mar. Desde aquí podemos llegar hasta Isla Cristina paseando por un frondoso pinar litoral.
Islantilla es una zona de temperaturas muy agradables, con inviernos templados y veranos cálidos suavizados por la brisa marina, y sol prácticamente todos los días del año; además se sitúa entre los parajes naturales de Marismas del Río Piedras y Flecha de El Rompido y Marismas de Isla Cristina. Está cercana al Parque Nacional de Doñana y es lugar de paso migratorio de aves. Su gran diversidad de flora y fauna genera un atractivo entorno.
En el sur de España, bañada por las aguas del Océano Atlántico y a escasos kilómetros de Portugal, se encuentra Islantilla.
Se encuentra cercana a la Sierra de Aracena y a los Picos de Aroche, y a Huelva, la capital, de la que sólo dista 40 km.

-A 86.5 kilómetros del Aeropuerto de Faro (Portugal).

The tourist complex of Islantilla, property of Isla Cristina and Lepe Town Councils, is situated in the middle of both towns, on the coast of the province of Huelva.
In the central zone, set by the beach, we find hotels, apartments, and two modern shopping malls with all recreation facilities (shops, restaurants, bars, and a cinema with six screens).
Getting into the side of the hills, we find Islantilla Golf Course (placed among the top 100 golf courses in Europe by the prestigious magazine Golf Digest), and the residential areas.
In the promenade, near the shopping mall and the beach, we find more hotels and residential areas on the left side. Along the promenade that connects to the urban centre of La Antilla, we enter in the picturesque fishermen's quarter “Barriada de los Pescadores”, further along and parallel to the beach itself, we reach to Torre del Catalán and Puerto de El Terrón.
In the right side of the shopping mall we reach Urbasur Beach, a residential area of villas surrounded by a natural landscape and several restaurants with terraces with views to the sea. From this point we can reach Isla Cristina, walking through a wealthy pine forest, extending right up to the beach.
Islantilla’s climate is very pleasant; very mild temperatures in winter, warm and not oppressive temperatures in summer due to the sea breeze, and sunny throughout most of the year. Moreover, it is surrounded by natural landscapes such as Rio Piedras Marshes, Flecha de El Rompido (The Rompido Spit) and Isla Cristina Marshes. Its situation, nearby Doñana National Park, a major site for migrating birds, makes this place a fascinating environment with an enormous variety of fauna and flora.
Islantilla is situated on the South of Spain, on the Atlantic Ocean, only a few kilometres from Portugal.
It is very near to Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche and only 40 kilometres (24.9 miles) to the capital city of Huelva.
