With the slogan, a giant Dahurian larch the size of a Parthenonic column fell with a deafening thump. Ye Wenjie felt the earth shake beneath her. Taking up her axe and short saw, she started to trim the tree trunk of its branches. Everytime she did this, she felt as if she were prepping the corpse of a giant. She often had the thought: the giant was her father, and she woud relive the tragic night, two years ago, when she cleaned her father's body in the morgue. The tree barks, slashed open, looked like the wounds that were littered across his body.
