My interest in the French language began at age thirteen, when I was a “homeschool” student living in poverty and isolation. I figured learning a new language would someday help me build a better life for myself. Through workbooks from my local library, I taught myself the basics: i.e., verb conjugation, names of objects and animals (pen=un stylo; dog=un chien). After six years of “homeschool”, I returned to a traditional school at age fourteen, where I continued studying French. I attended Occidental College, earning my BA in French Studies, with a minor in Diplomacy & World Affairs. During my college career, I spent a semester at Université Rennes II in Rennes, France. I also completed an internship at Word Express Translations, where I earned a junior translator certificate. I’m available to translate within the following industries: 1. Fashion and Commercial Print modeling. (I‘ve worked as a model for over ten years.) 2. New York City tourism and relocation. (I moved to NYC in 2007. It’s a nice place to visit—and an even nicer place to live.) 3. Retail sales 4. Hospitality 5. Residential Real Estate (I worked as a real estate agent for nearly two years.)
