I was born and raised in Mexico, but I currently live in the United States. I have a degree in Agronomy and another one in Linguistics. I've been working as a translator, editor and proofreader since 1992, when I moved to the United States. I've enjoyed working in publishing, on materials ranging from bilingual textbooks to Spanish-language versions of U.S. magazines. I am fascinated by the multiple ways and registers in which an idea can be expressed, and by the creativity of language. I guess that's what I like about working in publishing. I also translate, edit and proofread health-related materials, from post-op instructions to patients to abstracts of current research studies intended for the general public. When you hire me, you get someone who is genuinely interested in getting your message across. |
