My decades long experience as a translator from German to English has been based on my earlier medical/pharmaceutical/scientific career as a Ph.D. scientist.

I can offer a high level of expert competence in carrying out translations in medicines and pharmaceuticals. I have extensive experience conducting translations that must conform to EMEA specifications with MedDRA consistent terminology (e.g. translations of PILS, SPCs, expert reports, pharmaceutical validation documentation). Owing to my experience as a scientist I can also pick up on issues extending my competence as a translator, effectively acting as a prereviewer for manuscript submission. For individuals wishing to submit biomedical manuscripts for publication I can also offer consultancy in style, form and clarity. I place great value in ensuring that translations are transparent and understandable to the reader, and that the most important messages are conveyed effectively.

Over the years I have performed translations in many areas of the medical sciences (particularly cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology and cell biology just to name a few areas), and am comfortable that I can understand the context of almost any translation submitted to me for consideration.
