Source text - English Climate change is the main challenge facing humankind. To a great extent, this phenomenon is caused by the continuous increase of greenhouse gas (GG) concentrations released in the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution, resulting primarily from man-related activities.
The effects of climate change are already apparent as evidenced by the increase in global average temperature worldwide, which has caused a wide range of impacts in the different ecosystems all over the world. All this poses a threat to the survival of countless species, with severe effects on biodiversity and on all the human economic systems. Therefore, according to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), immediate actions must be taken in order to limit the average increase of global temperature to less than 2°C (35.6°F).
In order to address this issue, the "Argentine Network of Municipalities against Climate Change" (RAMCC) was created during the First International Conferences "Municipalities and Climate Change" held in the city of Monte Caseros, Corrientes, from November 25 to November 27, 2010. The RAMCC is an instrument for the coordination and promotion of local public policies fighting climate change in Argentina's cities and towns.

Este fenómeno es causado en gran parte por el aumento continuo de la concentración de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) en la atmósfera desde la Revolución Industrial, los cuales provienen en su mayoría de actividades realizadas por el hombre.
Los efectos del Cambio Climático ya son evidentes a raíz del aumento global de la temperatura media terrestre lo que genera impactos de todo tipo en los distintos ecosistemas del mundo. Todo esto pone en riesgo la supervivencia de numerosas especies, con graves efectos para la biodiversidad y para todos los sistemas económicos humanos. Por lo tanto, de acuerdo al IPCC (Panel Intergubernamental sobre Cambio Climático), es necesario actuar de inmediato para limitar el incremento promedio de la temperatura global a menos de 2°C.
Para atender este problema, se conformó la “Red Argentina de Municipios frente al Cambio Climático” (RAMCC), durante las Primeras Jornadas Internacionales “Municipios y Cambio Climático”, realizadas en la ciudad de Monte Caseros, Corrientes, entre el 25 y 27 de noviembre de 2010. La RAMCC, es un instrumento de coordinación e impulso de las políticas públicas locales de lucha contra el cambio climático de las ciudades y pueblos de la Argentina
