My name is Mark Lepage, a veteran French-English translator and editor. My clients include major cultural and governmental organizations including the Government of Québec and the Delegation générale du Québec à New York.
I am currently working on a contract with the United Nations as a Press Officer, translator and proofreader, covering meetings of the Security Council, General Assembly and all major Committees – I am very familiar with that international and domestic government/legal milieu and its language.
I am a veteran music/cultural journalist and translator, published in newspapers and magazines all over North America as well as abroad – Montreal Gazette, Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, NY Daily News, The National (Abu Dhabi), SPIN, En Route, Details, Blender, Rapaport Magazine (NY), McGill Magazine, etc. Along the way, I've interviewed everyone from Bono and Bowie to De Niro and Madonna, with pit-stops in literature (Amis, Mailer), written a New York column (covering Obama's presidential campaign, among other things) and reviewed/written features on a broad range of cultural subjects.
My other translation clients include the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal (jazz music, concert staging, governmental correspondence, contracts), the Festival Montréal en Lumière (restaurants, cuisine, wine, fireworks), Spectra Scene Productions, Cirque du Soleil, CROP Market Research, East West Communications (the military, international security and politics) MasterCard and Ms. Magazine. I recently complete two book translations: a book on personal and business motivation, Les 50 secrets de mon succès, by Dany Tremblay, (50,000 words); and a memoir on eroticism, Soumise Nels by Léna Emme (70,000 words).
