Report from  Elvana Moore
Here is a message from the Bristol Powwow which took place on 29th September 2007 at the Watershed Media Centre, a lovely location in the heart of the recently renovated Bristol Docks.

Anna, Joanne, Mihajlo, Nicole and Elvana were joined towards the end of our over 3 hour meeting by Anna George the Co-ordinator of the ITI Western Regional Group. We all enjoyed our food and drinks as much as talking and discussing various translation related issues, which included: language-specific rates and pressure on our various markets from translators in other countries, the use of CAT tools and the benefits of belonging to professional associations such as the ITI. In fact, everybody felt we could have easily stayed for a lot longer and still have a lot to talk had we not had other things to attend to. Unfortunately, we did not manage to connect to the other colleagues worldwide due to a very week internet signal – rather ironic in a media centre!

Some lovely group photos have been uploaded by Joanne Parker on the Bristol Powwow page. Take a moment and take a look!

We agreed to continue meeting on regular bases and hopefully next time the other colleagues who couldn't make it will join us.

Thank you and regards to all,

Elvana

I didn't forget, I promise. It's just that with three boys and a baby on the way, along with a 23,000 word translation having just been completed, Saturday turned into a manic day. Please do keep me in touch with the Bristol group activities as I am genuinely interested in participating.
