Report from  Thomas Groendal
The 4th Kansai/Osaka Powwow was held on schedule, Feb 6th, 2010.

This time the Powwow was attended by 16 attendees, both ProZ and non-ProZ, and was focused on our speakers.

Paul Makino spoke about the structure of the Translation industry and the diverse tasks handled by an in-house translator. His speech was well delivered and well-received.

David Eunice spoke about adding value to translation. His speech was delivered with just the right amount of polished flair and gave us all plenty to think about.

The speeches were followed by some open Q&A, introductions of other locally operating organizations and a bit of social Yakitori goodness.

Thanks everybody for showing up and I look forward to the next one!

Postings from ProZians who attended this event

Feb 17 '10  David Eunice: Thanks for the organizational energy and to everyone for coming
Thanks Tom and everyone else who came.

I was surprised to see so many people there. I really enjoyed Paul\'s presentation, and it was very stimulating
to make my own presentation, which forced me to clarify
my own ideas. During the presentation, I made some new
discoveries and learnt from the Q&A sessions.

Thanks to Tom (and Proz) for making it possible,
and to everyone who ventured outside and then
spent time inside on fine winter\'s day.

David
Feb 10 '10  Inter-Lingua (X): Thanks for a great Powwow
I would just like to echo some of the other comments and also thank Paul and David for a couple of very educational presentations. (It was reassuring to hear that some end clients understand the need for TM management, even if many agencies in Japan do not.)
Feb 9 '10  Peishun CHIANG: A great meeting!
Thank you Tom for organization. And Thank you speakers for the presentations. See you next time.
