Report from  Alicja Weikop
The powwow took place on Saturday 6th May in Brighton. Not put off by the rain, we all met at the entrance to the Brighton Pier and walked to a nearby pub called the Coach House for an ice-breaking drink. At 7pm and a pint merrier we marched across the road to the King and I - a Thai restaurant. As promised by Gabrielle, the food was absolutely delicious. We all enjoyed the evening and chatting about translators' aches and pains. We are hoping to meet up at the Edinburgh conference in November (if not sooner, locally).

May 8 '06  ckealy: Great first powow for me....will do again
Thanks Alicja, its not easy first time, and I was made to feel welcome and part of the group. Hope to catch you next time, in Edinburgh or perhaps Berlin
May 8 '06  Katharina Wawrzon-Stewart: Nice pics...
...even though I look rather knackered on most of them. Let me know, if you happen to be in London and keep an eye on the Edinburgh powwow page - we'll be updating the page shortly. Also, the conference is supposed to be interactive, so please let us know your suggestions for workshops, discussion groups, speakers etc.
Take care
Katharina

May 8 '06  Gabriele Twohig: Wonderul time!
Hear, hear! I fully agree with Jessica. It was so nice meeting you all, and many thanks again to Alicja. I am glad that everyone enjoyed the food, too.
If I can (as a non-member), I will make good on our light-hearted promise and organise the next Powwow in Brighton but I think it would make sense to let a few months pass before doing so. And then, of course, there is also Edinburgh. But please do stay in touch in the meantime!
