Dear all,
I am wondering if someone knows what the monthly usage limitation is for an advanced hosting package on ProZ.com.
I would also like to know what happens when the monthly usage limit is reached.
Regards,
Charalambos

Hi Charalambos,
The advanced hosting package is currently set up with a 2000 MB monthly bandwidth allowance. If this is exceeded, the account is temporarily suspended. However, you can expect us to be flexible about this. I hope this helps.

Even if email account is not the same as Internet access, I expect gaining traffic via ftp, so 2 GB could be a bottle neck for me. Is it possible to set this high to 5 GB?

Thanks Jason,
2 GB seems OK but I too expect the traffic on my site to increase largely (e-mail and FTP accounts included) and this could mean a higher traffic in the future. I guess, that's something that will have to be talked about when it happens.

Hi Jerzy,
Raising the bandwidth limit is possible, but I want to watch actual usage patterns for awhile before I do. Your own hosting account has used less than 10% of its bandwidth limit this month.
The bandwidth limit is mainly there to prevent abuse; I don't want anyone to have their hosting account suspended due to bandwidth usage. As I mentioned earlier, you can expect us to be flexible about this.
Best regards,

Hi! the idea had just now crossed my mind. One could actually reduce bandwidth trouble by using ftp clients for uploading and download directly from the outsourcer´s website. I would otherwise be having trouble, because few of my files amount to 400 MB ( graphic files especially) per download. If I were to use proz ftp (standard hosting services)where I am currently unable to set the anonymous or user based ftp account for the outsourcer, I do not have the bandwidth problems.
Rgds,
