Food additives / E-numbers (non EU languages) Thread poster: Kalou
|
I am looking for lists of food additives (E-numbers) in different languages, but not the EU languages (which are already present at www.fooddictionary.eu), such as Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Chinese, Albanian, Hebrew etc...
Any suggestions ?

The wikipedia page on E numbers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_number - is available in several other languages, including Russian and Arabic.
I'm not sure how authoritative the translations are, of course, but it might be some help, at least.

There are some translations, but the lists are not complete. Only a few wikis are complete, and those are the EU languages.
The best data are from the official EU documents and those were the sources for www.fooddictionary.eu. But I would presume that in other national food laws there are similar lists. But how to get those ?

In Brazil, the food manufacturers use INS numbers, which are exactly the same as E-numbers. So E-102 (tartrazine) is INS-102, E-621 (monosodium glutamate) is INS-621, and so on. | |

E numbers are codes for substances that are permitted to be used as food additives for use within the European Union.
The "E" stands for Europe, commonly found on food labes, such as E418 gellan gum which is made from fermentation with a natural culture. | | | Nihan Pekmen Türkiye Local time: 02:49 Member (2012) Turkish to English + ... | Paul Dixon Brazil Local time: 20:49 Portuguese to English + ... In memoriam
Does anyone know if the UK will still use E-numbers after Brexit? Or would they use UK numbers of something along those lines? | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Food additives / E-numbers (non EU languages) CafeTran Espresso | You've never met a CAT tool this clever!
