French term

opérer par tradition du titre

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
from an Article of Incorporation: "La cession des actions au porteur s'opère par tradition du titre", which would be
"transfer of bearer shares takes place by ???" I just do not find the proper way to end the phrase and shall appreciate any help.

either "simple delivery" or "private transfer"

I think this is basically about the unregistered, or private nature of the transfer, of a bearer share.

See the two references below. The second reference is a docuemnt about Lux holding cos. written in English. See page 11, Section 12.1 second line in middle column.
Peer comment(s):

agree Michael GREEN : As we are talking about bearer shares, this seems to be the simplest solution.

transfer of titles to the bearer from person to person

Peer comment(s):

agree Jon_Paris : yes, but it woudl be transfer of certificate (or share, or security, or instrument) titre means a security, typically a share

(the assignment of bearer shares) takes place by transfer of title

"tradition du titre" = "transfer of title"

Or more probably, ".... transfer of share certificates"
Peer comment(s):

disagree Jon_Paris : I think transfer of title would involves either registration or amendment or annotation of the instrument. "tradition du titre" refers to physical transfer.

You are probably correct, Jon ! Physical transfer is probably intended here. See my second note and Dr Jones' suggestion.
