Discussion

Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. Oct 11, 2009:
Of course, I proposed "coated tongue", which "is the more common"..

Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. Oct 11, 2009:
coated tongue As far as I can tell, I proposed "coated mouth"... first. I gave one reference. Is that the one who cites the ** most ** references gets the points... Is it only the references matter? regardless of who provides the correct answer first... No big deal... just I have been noticing this going on for a while... Just want to know..
Thanks

"bouche pâteuse" corresponds to what is best described by the popular sentence : "my mouth feels like the bottom of a parrot's cage" ;-)

dry mouth/mouth dryness

The mouth feels clammy or sticky because the mucosa lacks moisture.

You will often find "clammy mouth" in homeopathic texts. However in mainstream medical texts I would use "mouth dryness".

See also "cotton mouth" (colloquial).

Peur d’avoir mauvaise haleine

sil essle? A "bouche pâteuse" is brought about by lack of moisture. It is not necessarily coated.

dry or coated?

Personally I (and many others on Google) associate bouche pâteuse with that "morning after" effect, i.e. dryness. Others still associate it with excessive physical activity, hence dehydration and dryness of the mouth.

But a "medical" definition suggests it's "coated".

Fig., Avoir la bouche, la langue pâteuse, Avoir la bouche, la LANGUE COMME EMPÂTÉE D'UNE SALIVE ÉPAISSE.
