Spanish term
sin que se puedan apreciar
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical (general)
medical and autopsy reports - death due to multiple organ failure
Hello
I wonder whether anybody could help me with this awkward construction. I cannot get it to flow in English.
Here is the context:
Thank you for any help!

: If you read the whole text, it means the opposite: the gas extends without interruption to the soft tissue. See Marina Orellana dictionary on "sin solucion de continuidad"

I'm in the habit of reading full texts, Muriel. I'm quite capable of that. However, I get the impression that you're the one who has the wrond end of the stick here.

[presence of gas] that can be seen to [extend (uninterruptedly) into adjacent soft tissue]
I'm convinced that this is a variant of the Orellana dictionary entry that I quoted above. Here it the dictionary entry again:
sin solución de continuidad = 'unbroken, uninterrupted, continuously'.
The phrase appears to be negative at first glance, but my exerience with the expression is that it's the opposite: the negative meaning of "sin" refers only to the absence of any interruption. Literally, it means something like 'without any resolution to its continuous nature'.
In the translation, if you say something like 'extend', then 'without interruption' is redundant.
This is my understanding of what your text means:
[the presence of gas] throughout the ... muscle tissue CAN BE SEEN TO EXTEND (without interruption) to adjacent soft tissue
