Spanish term

comando

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Military / Defense
In the screenplay that takes place in an Argentine submarine i the 70s, I have been traslating "comando", the area of the vessel, as "control room". Here is seems to be a piece of equipment:
CHARACTER A:
¿No viste la cara que puso el capitán cuando vio el “comando” el otro día?
No entendía nada, no sabia ni como prenderlo…

control panel

Esto me suena bien como el termino en inglés. "no sabía ni prenderlo" es la parte clave para saber de que se trata.

bridge console

Not a room on a ship (a translation agency legal client and hissing London Solicitors/ letrados chistando - 40 years ago: 'it is not called a ship, but a vessel') where bridge as a card game is played. but the bridge from which ops. are controlled.
Example sentence:

Bridge consoles Whilst maritime technology becomes more complex, the number of skilled staff on board is reducing, making levels of monitoring vital to ensure a safe work environment for crew.
