No, this is not a technical term. It's not even a common term. The idea of a flame "rolling" is not quite accurate. So my suggestion tanslates the idea in terms that are common in Portuguese for flames.

I looked it up on Google and couldn't find anything, which makes me conclude the writer was simply describing the movements of the flames as they spread. Don't you think "descontroladas" or "que se alastram" would be adding meaning that wasn't originally present in the source? |
