1. It is not necessary to carry out any engine preservation procedure for medium term preservation for up to 6-months except to preserve all unpainted areas.
2. Use a rust preventative compound that meets military specification MIL-C-16173C, type P-2, grade 1 or 2. Brush or spray the compound on all the exposed metal surfaces that are not painted.

1. The batteries must be stored in a cool, dry, frost proof room. Batteries must be slightly discharged and then charged once a month.

DE-PRESERVATION
(1) It is essential that the de-preservation procedure is strictly adhered to; otherwise, the vehicle may not operate correctly. If signs of deterioration are found, preventative measures must be carried out to rectify the cause of deterioration and to restore the vehicle to a fully operational condition.
(2) If the vehicle has been standing in hot and damp conditions, or in a corrosive (coastal) atmosphere, it is probable that severe corrosion has taken place. Where severe external corrosion is apparent, the internal working parts will also be corroded. Where this has occurred, extreme care must be taken to prevent serious damage when the vehicle is first started and operated.
