I can see where the words "main" and "mainframe" come from. The "AND" stems from the confusing way that chinese frequently throws out lists without joining them with "and/or/comma"... I speculate that this is a system for use with conventional wire OR fiber optic cable. Rendering "CE" as detection seems more appropriate diction in this context, in my humble opinion, though some may disagree. In order to render "Chengshi" as "protocol", I stuck VERY close to the root meaning of "Cheng", additionally, the phrase is supposed to be a noun clause, thus it is desireable that the "chengshi" is a modifier of "xitong"... an adjective; "program", in my mind seems an awkward modifier... I have, however heard of protocol systems. Rendering "ZhuJi" as 'master', comes from my computer background, either as an overarching "master" program, or in the sense of the master/slave traffic priority relationship inherent in... protocols.
