Translation - English According to AFP, the authors of An Investigation of China's Peasantry, Mr. and Mrs. Chen Guidi and Chuntao, have arrived in Germany to accept the award. According to the website of the Lettre Ulysses Award for the Art of Reportage, the award goes to An Investigation of China's Peasantry because the book describes the hardships confronting many farmers in China, including despotism, arbitrariness, corruption, violence, and even murder, lawlessness, as well as unjust taxation. Mr. and Mrs. Chen Guidi and Chuntao also earn 50 thousands Euro as part of the award. Mr. Cheng Tijit, a sociology expert at the Macao University, who has studied the influence of An Investigation of China's Peasantry in Anhui, said he is very glad to hear the book has received such prestigious international award:
