UPC=UNIVERSAL PRODUCT CODE -CODICE UNIVERSALE DI PRODOTTO.
Il termine è comunemente definito come ha detto Vera -bar code.
L'etichetta in questione, però, è posizionata sull'estremità della scatola e non sul retro come anche da quest'immagine:

Secondo me si può anche omettere "un'etichetta con (codice a barre...)", questi codici sono sempre stampati su etichetta.
Due anni e mezzo di lavoro come assistente informatica ai punti vendita del Gruppo Marzotto mi hanno insegnato anche queste cose.

Un'altra riflessione: anche in questo campo c'è un sacco di gente che ama usare termini inglesi qua e là, e UPC è uno di questi. "codice UPC alla base della scatola" sarebbe ugualmente plausibile, solo noi notiamo che c'è due volte la parola "codice", ma l'uso prevale sulla teoria a volte, no?
