cani che non fanno la muta
Non-shedding dogs are dogs (mine included, a long haired one) that do not shed during the "muta" like regular dogs do, but loose hair throughout the year (pretty much like people do). It has to do with the layers in their furcoat. It is not correct to identify "cani a pelo corto" as non-shedding dogs. Even dogs with short hair shed annually, but because their hair is short it is not as intrusive as, let's say, what happens to a Golden Retriever.
As a rule of thumb all dogs and cats experience some change (loss) of hair but it becomes a real problem during the annual "muta".
That's from my Vet.
