Discussion

Ian M-H (X) Aug 24, 2006:
Who's written this, for whom? Into BE (in which case "inventory" would sound strange in connection with property), AE (in which case "real estate" works better than "property" as a general term) or some other variety? Oh yes: two terms, two questions...

office and residential real estate

für den Bestand brauche ich mehr Kontext
Peer comment(s):

agree Ian M-H (X) : Possibly "stock" or "inventory" for "Bestand", but (as you say) some context would help a lot. (And "properties" rather than "real estate" if it's for BE.)

(commercial) office property inventory and residential property

is the literal translation.

Specific types are referred to as "properties", "real estate" is more general (e.g., the "real estate" broker is selling a "commercial property")

stock of office (real estate) and residential real estate

... or as an alternative, "inventory" instead of "stock", as in "the stock or inventory of existing real estate in a given region.
It's less probable, but I can even imagine applications in which "portfolio" might make sense (Büroimmobilienbestand eines REITs, o.ä.)
