Italian term

struttura semplice dipartimentale

Italian to English Medical Medical (general) Italian Hospital Department(s)
This appears in the heading of a patient's pathology report:

SSD [Struttura Semplice Dipartimentale] - Diagnostica Istopatologica e Molecolare degli Organi Solidi e del relativo Trapianto

There are SO many of these Italian strutture with slightly different names! Is there a concise way of translating this one besides just calling it a Unit?

Thank you for your help with this.

@Cedric Ciao, Cedric, nice to see/hear from you. I was wondering if you would chime in. Almost done with another proofreading job, then yes ... it's time for a good night.
Cedric Randolph Sep 24, 2014:
Hey Joe! Yes, you can sound like a beginner translator and give the literal translation or you can call them departments or units, just don't call them late for dinner!!!! Have a good night, Joseph....

I agree with philgoddard - Unit is concise and clear, and much shorter than the full Italian term.
Joseph Tein (asker) Sep 24, 2014:
Hi Phil,

I'm happy to call of these different strutture (struttura semplice, struttura complessa) "units" and be done with it; I'm just making extra sure I haven't missed something.

I can't think of anything as concise as your own suggestion! What's wrong with that?
