Die Ergebnisse der orientierenden Vorstudie und der Beobachtungsstudie weisen darauf hin, dass der normale Rhythmus der nächtlichen Cortisolausscheidung bei Kindern, die an verkehrslärmbelasteten Straßen wohnten, gestört war.
The results of the orienting preliminary study and the observation study point out to the fact that the normal rhythm of the night Cortisolausscheidung was disturbed with the children who lived in verkehrslärmbelasteten streets. In addition, the results point to the fact that truck noise is noxious with the night interior level recorders which were valid up to now as compatible with healthy sleep. T

Second are pilot studies which are tests of the full trial procedures on a small sample of potential participants to make sure, in so far as is possible, that any problems with the conduct of the trial will be identified, so that procedures can be changed before the full trial starts.
