Lorena posted this link in an earlier query of mine, and it appears in it: http://ecomgx17.ecomtoday.com/edi/EDI_4010/el668.htm ... and it contains the same info as in your link. BTW, I still haven't found out what a "surge order" is, but I don't really need to know that right now...

I still think it could be drop shipment, perhaps a mistranslation of the English. Deposito sounds like drop, and cargamento like shipping.

Drop shipping is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer, another retailer, or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. Hi Phil I really don't know, but it's a possibility. This client's software texts seem to be lifted from several sources and different languages, mainly French, Portuguese, Spanish and English. I found "Item Rejected, Reorder Item as a Drop Shipment", but I don't know if that fits here - right now I'm trying to find out what a "drop shipment" is...
