Spanish term

cápsula parietal

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Brain CT scan terminology
Hi all -

I am translating a Brain CT scan report of a patient in which this phrase "cápsula parietal" is used.

Here is the context:

DETALLES OPERATORIOS

I am not sure if parietal capsule = Bowman's capsule. It seems that it's a subset of.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I agree with Lorena. It seems to refer to the wall of an abscess, also called "capsule"

from India again This author is also from India. Sometimes their English is rather fractured; it looks pretty good in this reference below but it's not perfect. Do you think you can find another reference that's from a native English speaking author(s)?

More A left parietal osteoplastic flap craniotomy was performed, and after the bone flap was removed, a yellowish, thick, elliptical capsule was noted. The capsule was easily dissected from the surrounding bone. The bisected hematoma capsule revealed a watery fluid.

I think they are talking about something like this:
Nuevo estudio tomográfico en cortes axiales, evidencia solo una lesión residual quistica de cápsula gruesa bien definida en región parietal derecha

I think a capsula is an "absceso" which is also know as a capsule in English. Specially since they are saying that a chocolate like fluid oozed out when opened.

Bowman's capsule is part of the kidneys, here we are talking about a craniectomy so it has to be something else. It has to be something related to the parietal bone.
