ProZ.com powwow: PICNIC CANCELLED => INFORMAL NETWORKING

August 8, 2009, 1:00 pm
United KingdomNottinghamIn personEnglish
Due to the typical British summer, the picnic will not be going ahead quite as planned. Instead we will meet at: The Orange Tree, 38 Shakespeare Street, Nottingham, NG1 4FQ, website.

You are welcome to join us for lunch from 1 p.m. (the pub has a varied menu including vegetarian dishes) or for drinks afterwards. This is a further opportunity to network in a relaxed setting. Look out for the Proz sign on our table.

All welcome – language professionals from near and far, partners, friends, etc. Please sign up in advance.

I look forward to seeing you there.
Happy translating,
Sarah

Info for first-time attendees Jul 10, 2009

Hi Joanna, Yelena and any other prospective first-time attendees,

There is absolutely no charge to attend one of our Nottingham powwows - you just pay for your own drinks at the pub and for lunch if you join us for that (if it rains but hopefully we will get our picnic this time).

Look at past Nottingham powwow reports to find out more. We are a friendly bunch and look forward to meeting youicon_smile.gif

All the best,
Sarah

PS. I will send out my mobile phone number nearer the time and will be walking to the picnic site from the city centre so am happy to meet you there so no-one gets lost.

Final details of picnic Aug 3, 2009

Hello all,
I've finally got around to choosing a pub for after the picnic (or as an alternative venue in the event of rain!). If you haven't done so already, please update your attendance.
For anyone who isn't sure of the way, I will be walking to the venue from Nottingham train station. Meet me in the main hall upstairs at 12.30 if you would like to walk with me.

Best regards,
Sarah

PS. Will confirm whether the outdoor element is going ahead on Friday.

Predictably the picnic is moving to the pub Aug 7, 2009

Hi all,
Even if the sun does shine tomorrow as forecast, the ground is going to be very boggy after last night's monsoon. So let's just meet at the pub (have updated the powwow information accordingly). It has a beer garden and if the weather is nice, we could always stroll down to the "Nottingham Riviera" (fake beach in Market Square!).
See you tomorrow I hope,
Sarah

It was great to get to know a new face and a new place, and as grand to meet all the familiar ones, too. Thank you for keeping the Nottingham Powwow running so well, Sarah!
