TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates generally to medical
implants and appliers therefor, and more particularly
to an attachment mechanism for use with a variety of medical implants and appliers for attaching such medical implants to body tissue. From EP-A-1488824 is known a subcutaneous self-attaching injection port with movable
retention members which are movable from an undeployed to a deployed state, engaging tissue. The fasteners may be disposed tangentially or radially and may be rotated between the deployed and undeployed state. The present invention will be disclosed in connection with, but not limited to, surgically implantable injection ports and an applier therefor.
