Since an early age, I have been passionate about languages and words. My personal and professional endeavors led me to enter the world of freelance translation in 2003. A translator by nature, I am indefatigably curious and drawn to the intricacies of communication and expression across linguistic boundaries.

I graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts from the University of Virginia, which included translation training. I have since spent a significant part of my professional life in the United States and throughout the Americas (Argentina, Brazil and Costa Rica), which has afforded me linguistic and cultural fluency alike.

Professional experience includes work as a liaison for the Costa Rican government in translation and correspondence; telecommunications management duties in network operations; in-house translator at agency in Sao Paulo; investment program adviser in Costa Rica; commercial and residential real estate market analyst.

Since becoming a ProZ member, I have built lasting relationships with many members of the ProZ community and am driven by a passion for language and communication, a strong sense of duty and dedication to clients and collaborators, and, just as importantly, a genuine enjoyment of the art and science of translation. My memberships in the Colorado Translators Association and American Translators Association have introduced me to industry colleagues and new opportunities.

On a daily basis, I rely upon a range of online and offline glossaries, while using SDL Trados, memoQ, Wordfast and Dragon NaturallySpeaking in order to maximize productivity, consistency and quality in my translations. Seventy percent of my translation workload is currently in PT>EN, with the balance in ES>EN. I also regularly perform proofreading and editing services.
