Translation - English Despite market concern over the possibility of a Greek default, the debt crisis and its possible spread to Spain and Portugal, investment in government bonds in February continued to outperform investment grade and high-yield corporate bonds. Investors are once again seeking to further reduce risk, boosting the performance of government bonds. Due to the likelihood of sustained low interest rate policies in Europe, we invested in Euribor and German short-term government bonds, achieving positive fund performance. At the end of the month, our response to the flattening of the American treasury yield-curve in the bond market slightly lowered fund prices. At the beginning of this month, we purchased a position in British gilt-edged bonds as they were outperforming German government bonds. A return on funds was not achieved however, as markets were concerned over the sustainability of fiscal policy, forcing British gilt-edged bond yields to break above the current resistance level.

Translation - English More than 2400 years ago, the Greek philosopher Pericles made the following pertinent comment about risk management, "It is not necessary to predict the future, just to be well-prepared for it." Pericles' comment still has profound significance for Chinese entrepreneurs today.
Chinese business leaders have only known about and accepted the concept of modern corporate risk management for 20 to 30 years. During the era of planned economy, the concept of risk management was both foreign and unclear to business leaders and it was not until the opening reforms at the beginning of the 1980s that entrepreneurs began to experience both the vitality of the market and the hidden dangers and concern that market uncertainty brought. The development of the Fortune 500 companies has proven that profitability and company growth is inextricably linked to risk management; stable profit and continual growth are impossible without the ability to control and avoid risk. Therefore every company desiring profitability and growth must focus on risk management.
As a result of the international financial crisis and the global recession of recent years, Chinese entrepreneurs have gained a greater awareness of economic, financial and investment risk than ever before. Financial and investment risk management has already become a key course in management training, and has received a positive uptake and praise from entrepreneurs. That these business leaders have embraced risk management education is without doubt a positive development and one which will essentially refine and improve the ability of companies to withstand risk.
