Italian to English: Goodwill General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Accounting
Translation - English Goodwill arising on the acquisition of a subsidiary or other business combinations represents the excess of the acquisition cost over the Group’s share in the fair value of the identifiable assets, liabilities and contingent liabilities of the subsidiary at the acquisition date. Goodwill is recognised as an asset and reviewed at least annually for any impairment. An impairment loss is recorded immediately in the Income Statement and is not restated in a subsequent period.
On the sale of a subsidiary, any Goodwill not amortised attributable to the subsidiary is included in determining the gain or loss on the sale.
Goodwill arising on acquisitions prior to January 1, 2004 is carried at the amount recognised under Italian GAAP after an impairment test at that date.

Specialised translation of all business, legal, accounting and commercially related material - annual, half-year and quarterly reports, bond prospectuses, IPO’s, corporate governance, internal regulations, contracts, press releases, business presentations, contracts, litigation, marketing material, websites and all similar documentation.
I work with Italian listed clients who have been with me for a number of years and who continually express great satisfaction with the quality of translations provided.
I have direct relevant experience as an audit manager for 4 years in the Milan office of a Big 4 accounting firm. My knowledge of the above areas is therefore thorough and expansive. With the constant development of accounting and industry terminology, ongoing research plays a central role in the high-quality service provided. In addition, thorough proofreading is carried out by a colleague who is fully proficient in Italian, holding an honors degree in Economics and Social Science and working with me for over 7 years and entirely familiar with all materials undertaken.
I am currently located in Cannes, France, having lived in Milan for 6 years. I have translated all of the listed documentation (extending from Accounts to Governance document to Marketing and Presentations and Website materials) for a multitude of companies listed on Borsa Italiana and numerous IPO prospectuses.
